Frank Kozik is a self taught American graphic artist born in 1962 in the then fascist ruled Spain. Growing up under Franco’s dictatorship would have a major part to play in his future career as an artist.
That career has seen him develop into one of the most iconic and important living artists in the US today. His art spans a range of different mediums and genres. He is credited with reinventing the rock gig poster in America, producing artwork for Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Beastie Boys, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many more. He even directed music videos including Soundgarden’s Pretty Noose. His commercial work includes clients such as Nike, Absolute Vodka, BASF, Oakley, Harley Davidson, Swatch and MTV.
More recently he is likely best known for his work with Vinyl Toy brand KidRobot. Producing a heap of much loved limited edition collectables and toys, including the Smokin Labbit.
Kozik’s Cup & Saucer creation for This is a Limited Edition ‘Evil Tea Time’ sold out in hours, and continues to be one of the most requested, however his wonderful ‘Cursed Nap Time’ Limited Edition pillow is still available…just!
Kozik lives and works in San Francisco with his wife and four Bengal cats.
